Instructions for
SpeakersPlease bring your talk on a CD-PC format or memory stick as a power-point presentation. For practical reasons we would like you not to bring your personal laptop.
Conference Desk
The conference desk in “Le Cinéma” will be opened from 7:30-11:30 am each morning and from 3:30 pm during the afternoon sessions. Go there for late registration, dinner bookings and any other problems.

Bus
Transportation
Free bus transportation is available throughout the resort to reach “Le Cinéma” (the bus stops at Place de l’Ermitage). For those staying at the Hotel Montpelier, a courtesy minibus will take you to the main square (Place de L’Ermitage)
in the mornings only.Alpine
Supper
The official dinner will take place in the Restaurant “Le Vieux Verbier”, on Tuesday 2
6 January at 9:00pm. Drinks will be served under the tent at “Le Cinéma” at 8:15pm. Informal dress is suitable (leave your tie at home!).Dinner with wine is at a subsidized price of 90 Euros. Please buy your dinner voucher at the conference desk by Monday evening at the latest for those who did not register online. Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis!
Efficient
ski-lift facilities provide access to 250 miles of slopes, a figure that
already gives an idea of this vast area of virtually limitless skiing, to say
nothing of an alpine panorama that will take your breath away (especially from
the top of the Mont-Fort or Mont-Gelé).
At
an altitude between 5000 and 10000 feet, snow conditions are exceptionally
favourable. The skiing resort is easy to reach from “Le Cinéma”,
therefore you are strongly advised to take your kit with you when joining the
morning scientific sessions.
Your
hotel and the conference desk will give you details of where to obtain passes
for skiers and non skiers.
Skiers
are certainly experts in knowing how to get properly dressed in winter
mountain conditions. For others, warm clothes and non-slip snow boots are
strongly recommended.
In addition to skiing and other snow sports, there are different activities offered in Verbier: paragliding over the region, take a break at the swimming pool in the Sports Centre, shoot down the toboggan slopes, hike along sunny paths or compete at a curling match.
Discounts on Ski Hire and Lift Passes
Discounts are
available via the conference desk or in advance through M&S Event Services
SA. This year a 25% discount is available on all 2 day passes, for 26
and 27 January!
For ski-passes
with a duration of 3 days and longer, a discount of 7% is available.
Please book the ski-passes well ahead through the M&S Event Services SA
office in Verbier.
